A weak area of high pressure will extend towards the central Mediterranean over the weekend, keeping an intense low pressure system over the western Mediterranean away from the Maltese Islands. No significant precipitation is expected over the weekend. The Southerly wind will be strong, however, particularly on Saturday. This may reach Force 6/7 at times. The Southerly wind will make for fairly warm temperatures on Friday and Saturday, with highs expected to reach 22 C on both days. The wind dies down and turns West on Sunday. This will bring temperatures down slightly, with highs set to dip to 18 C on the day.
