The Maltese Islands will remain covered by high pressure this week. This high pressure will be weaker than recently, however. It will be far too weak for plumes of very hot air from north Africa to reach us. On the other hand, it will be strong enough to keep low pressure systems at bay. The Maltese Islands will enjoy temperatures which are normal for this time of year. Highs will be in the region of 30 C to 32 C, while lows will be of 22 C to 24 C. Levels of humidity will be relatively high, causing the air to feel heavy and clammy. The sky will be mainly sunny or partly cloudy, with the ‘għarixa’ expected to characterise all days this coming week. No rain is anticipated this week. Winds will be light and variable.
