The atmosphere above the central Mediterranean will destabilize slightly over the course of the coming week. We’re expecting the weather to be cloudier, with a number of days likely to feature variably to mostly cloudy skies. The atmosphere will not be unstable enough for significant rain-bearing clouds to develop across the central Mediterranean. The only rain this week, if at all, will come in the form of brief sprinkles or light rain over the weekend. It will be a windier week too, with most days likely to be characterized by a moderate to strong East to Southeast wind. This is likely to blow fine dust from the Sahara Desert over our region, creating a distinct haze that will prevail on most days. Any sprinkles or light rain will deposit this fine desert sand. Temperatures will remain at warmer than average levels. Daytime highs will vary from 27°C to 31°C. Nighttime lows will be at the level of 23°C / 24°C.
